BRIDGET POULTER PSYCHOTHERAPY WELCOMES YOU

Letting the body speak when words are not enough

Life isn't always a bed of roses. We can all be affected by day to day issues with relationships, work and financial worries to unexpected loss, trauma and bereavement, as well as health concerns. All this can leave us feeling overwhelmed, and anxious and perhaps unable to cope - even for the the most resilient. These feelings can impact us physically as well as mental wellbeing, creating tension in the body, difficulty with relaxing or sIeeping, and maybe withdrawing socially and not doing the things you enjoy.

I am a Registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist and here to support you as you experience change, healing and self-discovery.

WHAT TO EXPECT

My treatment approach - the body-mind connection

I believe the body is implicit and explicit in how we communicate with self and other and that how we move both impacts and reflects our thoughts, feelings and actions. I take and integrative approach to my work, drawing on elements of 'embodiment', mindfulness and creative arts therapies to help clients explore and identify the difficulties that brought them to seek help, encouraging awareness and self-understanding and adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations.
Therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: it is a collaborative healing process needing commitment and investment from the client and therapist alike. It's not always an easy process but even making small changes to our patterns of feeling, thinking and relating about ourselves and the world around us can bring life-altering results.

MY SERVICES

Making the decision to seek help is the first step to healing and recovery - and an investment in your future.

I deeply respect my clients for taking this step and realise it's not an easy one to take and your wellbeing is always my priority.

Just as we all come in different shapes and sizes so my approach also varies, drawing on various therapeutic theories

and techniques to match what you need to make the changes you seek.

I offer private individual and group therapy sessions for children, young persons and adults, parent/child dyadic work, and offer freelance

sessions to organisations and partnership projects including wellbeing workshops for staff, carers and parents.

Due to Covid-19 I am currently providing online sessions using Zoom videoconferencing.
